What does the average Indian think of Arranged marriages and how do you justify spending the rest of your life with someone you really dont know. I have realized that I am Indian but I dont share those values. I wish there was some way to reconcile and bring the two worlds together. I love my parents and will always admire and respect them. However I cannot justify being with someone I dont know. It is a very complicated ordeal and I honestly dont see how it works in this day and age. I desire companionship and want my future wife to have a strong relationship with the Lord. But as far as race goes I could marry someone of Japanese descent. My parents have a proposal in New York and they have contacted the parents of this girl. The proposal came as a result of some family ties in India. I saw a picture of this girl with her mother and now we are planning a trip to New York to visit her family. For someone that was born and raised outside the US it seems rather primitive. However I am open to suggestions and want some input as to what I am supposed to do?
