Hey guys,We are all here now in DC. On Friday the Orthopedic doctor was very pleased with Tim's progress. His wounds are starting to heal. His kidneys are also very slowly improving. However, since we have been here Tim has taken some major steps back. His doctors were trying to start weaning him off his respirator on Sunday. Since then he has gotten worse. They discovered when they fixed his trach tube(he was bleeding, nothing to major) that the pneumonia has spread to both lungs. He has what they call ARDS. So they now are heavily sedating him so that they can put him more on the respirator to let his lungs rest(this is what we gather). His heart has been doing funny things also. When they were fixing his trach tube, his heart stopped for 3 seconds. Also during periods of the day his heartbeats have dropped. We will find out the results of the test today.I saw Tim for the first time yesterday. There's nothing like seeing someone who can't breathe on their own. It's so scary. He is in such a fragile state. He's still fighting. He is really scared when the doctors and nurses come in b/c he doesn't know what they are going to do with him. Katy is by his side as much as she can be. He requests for her all of the time. She is very calming to him and explains what is going on.Lily is also frustrated. She can't see her mom all of the time and she gets upset. It's heartbreaking when we have to tell her we have to leave. Please pray for Tim. These next few days are critical. Just pray that the junk in his lungs breaks up and goes away and that his kidneys heal as well. Also pray that God just fills him with a peace while he is awake and asleep.People have been asking for info and how to help so here it their address which you can send cards n stuff:Mologne House HotelAttn: Tim and Katy Hines (Rm. 465)One Main DriveWashington, DC 20307-5001Also if you go to any 5/3, they have a Timothy Hines fund if you would like to donate.Sorry this is short but i only have a couple minutes.
